Samuel Nicholas III, who performs under the name Sam Skully, is suing Drake and Big Freedia, claiming the artists sampled his work on the songs “In My Feelings” and “Nice for What,” without credit.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, Nicholas claims Drake sampled his song “Roll Call” for “In My Feelings” without permission or compensation, and reportedly stole another beat for “Nice For What,” his collaboration with Big Freedia.

He claims he released both songs in New Orleans in 2000 and is now reportedly seeking damages from the two artists as well as three record labels: Asylum, Cash Money, and Republic. So far, there are no reports on the amount of damages Nicholas is seeking.

“Nice For What” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2018; as did “In My Feelings” which remained at No. 1 for ten weeks and spawned the highly-popular “In My Feelings” challenge.
