Drake is not letting up. Not even a little bit. “ICEMAN” may be on the verge of losing its number one spot on the Billboard 200 next week, but before you let anybody spin that into a narrative, remember this: that album sat at the top of the charts for four consecutive weeks. In 2026. With the entire internet convinced they were done with him.
Say what you want about Drizzy, but the man came outside this summer with a point to prove and the numbers backed him up.
And while the charts do their thing, Drake is busy doing what Drake does best; staying in the cultural conversation by any means necessary.
If you haven’t seen the “Shabang” challenge yet, open your TikTok right now because you’re behind.
The trend, sparked by “Shabang,” one of the standout records off “ICEMAN,” has creators using quick-cut edits to make drinks, snacks, and whatever else appear out of thin air right as Drake raps the opening lines of the song.
It’s one of those trends that sounds simple on paper but becomes completely addictive once you start scrolling. Summer Walker helped jumpstart the moment on TikTok, and since then the challenge has taken on a life of its own with creators all over the platform putting their own spin on it.
The song itself has already earned its flowers from some heavy hitters. Cardi B and Quavo were both recently caught singing along to it online, which tells you everything you need to know about where “Shabang” sits in the cultural moment right now. The debate between “Shabang” and “Janice STFU” for song of the summer is a real conversation, and honestly, both are winning.
Drake already did the Shabang challenge once during his trip to Turks & Caicos, where he was also spotted filming what looked like a new music video. But Drizzy came back for round two this week, and this time he brought Toronto singer Jessie Reyez into the mix.
In the video, a shot glass appears in Drake’s hand right on cue, and then Jessie Reyez steps into frame with absolutely nothing to show for the edit. Her caption said it all: “POV: ur friends don’t know ur sober now lol.”
It’s the kind of content that works because it doesn’t feel forced. Drake isn’t trying too hard. He’s just outside, having fun with it, and naturally feeding the algorithm in the process. That’s the move.
Even after three albums, the rumors aren’t slowing down. Word floated that there could be another project in the pipeline, and Diplo hinted that a collaboration between Drake and Skillibeng could be dropping in the near future.
A Drake and Skillibeng collab with Diplo in the mix? That’s a dancehall-meets-summer record waiting to happen, and honestly it makes sense given the Caribbean energy “ICEMAN” was already leaning into.
Whether that drops before summer ends or not, there’s no shortage of Drake music to ride out the season with. He came in with his foot on the gas and hasn’t eased up once.
