Drake is going on the offensive in court.
According to TMZ, which obtained the lawsuit, Drake is suing a woman named Layla who publicly claimed he got her pregnant and also accused him of assaulting her. His suit calls those claims false.
Per the filing, Drake says the two met last year after a show on his Boy Meets World tour in Manchester, England, and that their encounter at his hotel was consensual. He claims Layla grew upset when it ended because she expected it to continue. The suit was filed by his lawyer, Larry Stein.
Drake says that in April, Layla posted on Instagram about being pregnant and later repeated the claim on Sirius XM. According to the suit, her lawyer demanded money the following month and threatened a defamation claim over a TMZ story. Drake says he asked for a paternity test and she refused. The suit states there is “no credible evidence of pregnancy, nor any baby.”
The suit also says Layla later accused Drake of rape. Drake denies the accusation, and his suit says Manchester police investigated and cleared him. He claims she then tried to get him to pay for her silence, which he refused. His lawsuit seeks relief for civil extortion, emotional distress, fraud, defamation and abuse of process.
These are the claims made in Drake’s lawsuit. Baller Alert has not seen a response from Layla.
