Drake has revealed that he is stepping away from music to address a long-standing health issue.
On his SiriusXM show, “Table for One,” he explained that he needed to prioritize his health.
“I probably won’t make music for a little bit,” Drake said. “I’m going to be real with you. I need to focus on my health, first and foremost, and i’ll talk about that soon enough. Nothing crazy, but just like, you know, I want people to be healthy in life.”
“I’ve been having the craziest problems for years with my stomach,” he said.
While Drake didn’t provide specific details about his health issue, he mentioned it would demand a significant amount of time.
“I’ma lock the door on the studio for a little bit. Maybe a year or something … maybe a little longer,” he added.
This announcement is significant given his reputation for consistently dropping music rapidly.
In the last 13 years, the “For All The Dogs” rapper has dropped nine studio projects.
“I need to focus on my health, and I need to get right.”
