After staying mostly lowkey following his perceived rap loss to Kendrick Lamar, Drake is finally teasing new music.

The Toronto star, fresh off being named the most-streamed rapper on Spotify and winning three Billboard Music Awards, took to Instagram on Thursday to drop a hint about what’s coming next. He posted a photo of his longtime producer, Noah “40” Shebib, working on a track by a Christmas-decked fireplace. Shebib is seen with his laptop open, clearly in music mode, and Drake captioned the shot with “Strong winds from the north.”

It’s the first sign that new tunes are on the way, which is a relief for fans still waiting for that long-rumored album with PARTYNEXTDOOR. Last month, Drake shared on a live stream with xQc that the joint album was in production. Drake’s last full body of work was October 2023’s “For All the Dogs,” which featured singles “Rich Baby Daddy,” and “First Person Shooter.” Unfortunately, much of his 2024 has been tied up in his beef with Lamar.

While Drizzy may be ready to release new tunes, his lawsuit against UMG could be a roadblock. The 38-year-old is accusing the company of inflating the success of Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” among other claims. UMG has denied these allegations.
