An old concert video of Drake went viral over the weekend and fans are not happy. The clip is from his May 2010 show at the Ogden Theatre in Denver, Colorado, when he was 23.
In the video, Drake brings a young woman on stage, slow dances with her and kisses her. At one point he asks the crowd how old she is, and she says she is 17. Reports say he reacted with a joke about not being able to go to jail yet before the moment continued.
Social media users called the clip uncomfortable, and many tied it to the conversation around the Surviving R. Kelly docuseries, which had just aired. According to TMZ, the age of consent in Colorado is 17, so the encounter was not illegal.
Drake had not publicly addressed the video at the time of this post. We will update the story if he responds.
