West Virginia defensive lineman Korey Harris was arrested Friday, July 19, on a first degree armed robbery charge, according to local reports.
Police said that in the early morning of July 12, Harris and two other men entered a home on Sturgis Street in Morgantown and held two residents at gunpoint. A relative of one of the victims told WV MetroNews that a victim recognized Harris because he was wearing WVU issued sweatpants with the number 96 on them. Deadspin also reported the sweatpants detail. A charge is an allegation, and Harris has not been convicted of anything.
Harris had been suspended from the team in the spring, and he is no longer listed with the program. The university did not publicly confirm his dismissal and told reporters it had no comment on individuals who are not with the football team. A response from Harris was not available at the time of this report.
