Coffee lovers may want to set an alarm because Dunkin‘ is bringing back one of its biggest giveaways of the year with another massive free drink drop.
The chain confirmed it will hand out one million free coffees on April 21 after teasing the promotion in a cryptic Instagram post shared on April 17. The post featured a Notes app screenshot with the line, “just a girl and her notes app,” plus clues that quickly caught fans’ attention.
One note read, “Another million coffees? April 21st?” while another added, “drop @ 9am code could be freecoffee1.” The brand doubled down in the caption, writing, “Just gonna leave this here.”
Now the mystery is solved.
“On April 21, Dunkin’ is serving up one million free coffees after accidentally leaking both the promo code and a few Easter eggs on the summer menu on social media,” the company said in a statement.
Starting at 9 a.m. local time, customers can claim a Free Coffee Certificate using the promo code “FREECOFFEE1.” The certificate remains valid for seven days after redemption. The offer is limited to one per customer while supplies last. Cold Brew and Extra-Large Hot Coffee orders are excluded.
The Notes screenshot also appeared to tease future menu plans. One line said, “Things I miss. oreo coolatta,” sparking speculation that the fan-favorite frozen drink could return. Another note read, “Work to do. Make content for new spring menu next week.”
Dunkin’ already rolled out a banana-themed spring menu in March, featuring drinks like the Banana Puddin’ Cloud Latte, Banana Daydream Refresher and Bananarama Matcha.
This latest promotion follows the brand’s April Fools’ Day giveaway earlier this month, when it handed out 1,000,001 free coffees. “Remember last April Fools’ when Dunkin’ gave away a million free coffees and people thought it was a prank? Well, this year, Dunkin’ is going even bolder!”
