A custody battle between Dwight Howard and Royce Reed took another turn this week, according to TMZ.
Howard is seeking full custody of the couple’s seven year old son. TMZ reported that Howard claims in court documents that Reed has exposed the boy to inappropriate adult situations. TMZ also reported that Howard is pointing to a photo from the boy’s birthday as an example of what he calls poor judgment. Reed, a Basketball Wives star, posted the photo on her Instagram page. It shows the boy smiling at a Hooters restaurant.
Reed had accused Howard of abusing their son last week, according to reports, and TMZ noted that Howard is being investigated over that allegation while he pursues custody.
Reed’s side tells a different story. A source close to Reed told TMZ that the birthday party was held earlier that day at a bounce house with the boy’s classmates, and that she only stopped at Hooters to get food. The source also said Reed has never exposed her son to anything inappropriate.
A rep for Howard told TMZ that Howard “isn’t going to engage in the back and forth about his son in the media.”
