Erica Banks has a few dream collaborations on her list, but one name came with an unexpected plot twist.
During a recent episode of Respectfully The Justin LaBoy Show, Erica Banks was asked which female artists she still wants to work with. The “Buss It” rapper did not hesitate with her answer, naming Summer Walker, Sexyy Red, and Jhene Aiko as her current top picks.
“I have not worked with Summer Walker. I have not worked with Sexy Red. They’re my top two right now. Summer Walker and Sexy Red. Oh, and Jhene Aiko. Yeah. I love her,” Banks said.
However, once Sexyy Red’s name came up, Banks revealed that there is one thing standing between them, at least on social media. According to Banks, Sexyy Red has her blocked, even though she believes the St. Louis rapper has still shown her support publicly.
“But Sexy Red, I don’t know what it is with Sexy Red. Sister, when you see this, sister, I be seeing, like, when I be in the blogs and stuff, like, you f**k with me. Like, we always, you know, we f**k with each other. But sister, you got me blocked,” Banks said.
When the room reacted with surprise, Banks doubled down.
“She got me blocked. I don’t know, but I know she f**k with me because I always see her support my stuff in the blogs. Like, she’ll come in and fuck me I don’t know if one of your homegirls took your phone one day and was like, f**k this b***h. I don’t know.”
The conversation then turned playful, with Justin LaBoy suggesting that there may be more to the story than Banks was letting on. Banks pushed back, saying she does not believe there is real tension because Sexyy Red has shown support in other ways.
When asked if she had any idea why Sexyy Red may have blocked her, Banks insisted she was just as confused as everyone else.
LaBoy then pressed further, suggesting Banks may know more than she is saying.
For now, Banks seems open to working with Sexyy Red and does not appear to be treating the block as a full-blown beef. In fact, her comments sounded more confused than confrontational. Still, in the world of rap friendships, blog comments, and mystery blocks, one unanswered question can turn into a whole storyline by morning.
