Amidst all the drama involving her husband and Ariana Grande, Ethan Slater’s estranged wife, Lilly Jay, is finally speaking out.
“[Ariana’s] the story really. Not a girl’s girl. My family is just collateral damage,” Jay told Page Six, adding, “The story is her and Dalton [Gomez].”
Gomez married Grande in 2021 before news of their split surfaced earlier this month.
“I’m focused on my son and doing my best to navigate a spotlight I have never wanted or experienced before,” Jay continued. “I am asking for privacy and respect as an individual who is not in the entertainment industry and as a mom. I ask to be left alone to rebuild my life and raise the beautiful boy I gave birth to last year.”
However, according to sources from Page Six, it’s been reported that Jay has been actively reaching out to multiple news outlets to share her side of the story while simultaneously behaving differently towards Slater behind the scenes.
Although reports claim that Lilly was “blindsided” by Ethan’s relationship with Ariana, the insider says the two have been separated for months.
“She’s telling Ethan and others that she only cares about protecting their child,” said the source.
“She’s rightfully upset because her marriage fell apart, but Ariana and Ethan didn’t do anything wrong.”
The source added, “Ethan is trying to take the high road and hopes he can resolve this situation for the sake of their child.”
However, a separate source said, “It’s horrible. They were high school sweethearts. They have a baby! She’s a wreck.”
They even claimed that the singer was the reason for Jay and Slater’s split as they “suddenly” broke up when “nothing appeared wrong between them.”
