In her new memoir Who’s That Girl?, Eve opened up about one of the most painful experiences in her life, suffering a miscarriage in 2006.

At the time, she was filming her popular TV show Eve, and while things looked good on the outside, she was battling a traumatic experience behind the scenes.

Eve shared that she found out she was pregnant while still working on the show. Which then led to a medical emergency due to an ectopic pregnancy.

She then shared that she took a two-week break from filming to undergo emergency surgery. However, instead of revealing the real reason, she told her colleagues she had appendicitis.

“Maybe because I was lying to myself,” she wrote in the memoir. “If I faced losing my baby, then I didn’t know if two weeks would be enough emotional healing time. In the end, it was barely enough healing time for me physically, before I was right back to work on set.”

Eve also opened up about how the surgery left her physically drained and emotionally numb. “I had lost so much weight after the surgery, and my body was so frail. I still had to walk red carpets during that time, and when I look back at pictures, I can see how skinny I was. Too skinny. And too much in denial,” she wrote.

Despite all of this, she pushed through, saying she did “whatever it took to show up and get the job done… even if it was to my own detriment.”

It wasn’t until years later that Eve finally allowed herself to grieve the loss of her first child. Finally, in 2022, Eve and her husband Maximillion Cooper welcomed their son Wilde Wolfe.
