Eve and Nicki Minaj have officially squashed any rumors of tension between them after Eve responded to a heartfelt message from Nicki.
It all started when Nicki gave Eve her flowers and thanked her for being so kind while they were shooting Barbershop: The Next Cut back in 2016.
Eve, who had previously opened up during an interview on CNN while promoting her new book Who’s That Girl, talked about how she had to cope with Nicki’s rapid rise in the industry. But now, she’s made it clear that there’s only love and admiration between the two.
Eve wrote in her own post, “Dear Nicki, Thank you so much for this. I really appreciate it. I have nothing but respect and am so proud to have seen you grow from strength to strength over the years as an artist, mom and always stayed true to yourself, lord knows it’s not easy for us ya’ll. Thank you for all the kind words and blessings to my family its goes without saying the feeling is mutual.”
Seeing two iconic female rappers acknowledge and appreciate each other in this way is a powerful moment for hip-hop.
