Evelyn Lozada Says Quick "Queens Court" Process Led To Ultimate Split From Lavon Lewis

Evelyn Lozada and her television boo Lavon Lewis have called it quits.

The “Basketball Wives” star confirmed the split in an exclusive chat with Us Weekly. Lozada and Lewis seemed to have a promising connection when they met on her dating show, “Queens Court.” Lewis popped the question on her birthday in December 2022, and all seemed well with the couple. Sadly, good things come to an end, and Lozada said it was simply “the right thing to do” once the pair realized they weren’t suitable for one another.

In addition to him living in Atlanta, while she is located in LA, Lewis has a young son who requires much attention, while Lozada is focused on her children and the new season of “Basketball Wives.” With such busy lives, the two found it hard to bond consistently.

“Things went so fast. Six months later, we were engaged, and I just felt a little bit of a disconnect,” the former Dulce owner told the outlet, adding that the filming schedule for the “Queens Court” was only six weeks, another factor that didn’t allow them much time to get to know one another.

Another thing that got in the way of Lewis and Lozada walking down the aisle was the anxiety she felt during the wedding planning stage. The reality TV guru says this was due to her shortlived marriage to Chad “Ocho Cinco” Johnson, whom she married on July 4th, 2012, and divorced on September 19th, 2012, due to a domestic violence incident.

As for his perspective, Lewis has not yet commented on the split, though it seems amicable, with Lozada saying the two are still good friends.
