Evelyn Lozada has filed a defamation lawsuit against her former publicist, Danika, according to The Blast, which obtained the suit. The “Basketball Wives” star is seeking unspecified damages.
Lozada says the two stopped working together after a falling out in December 2016, and that Danika has since spread false statements about her to people in the entertainment industry. She points to a February 2018 media report about her marriage to her ex husband, the former NFL player, that she says came from Danika. Lozada says she sent a cease and desist letter afterward, but that the alleged defamation continued.
The suit also claims Danika told Lozada’s “Basketball Wives” co star Tami Roman that Lozada was the aggressor in the domestic incident that led to her split from Johnson. Lozada denies that and says the claim was meant to hurt her reputation when it was raised on the show.
A representative for Danika told The Blast that she has no knowledge of the lawsuit or the allegations in it, does not watch the show and is not aware of any storylines.
These are allegations in a lawsuit, and no court has ruled on them.
