Malachi Love-Robinson, who made national headlines as a teenager for posing as a doctor, has been arrested again, WPTV News reports.
According to authorities cited by WPTV, Love-Robinson, who is now 23, is accused of fraud and grand theft. While he worked for a shipping broker, he is alleged to have had clients send more than $10,000 to his personal account instead of the company’s account. He was arrested Thursday morning and released later that night.
WPTV also reports that text messages between Love-Robinson and the company’s owner show him apologizing and saying he wanted to make things right. He also reportedly said he did not want to go to jail.
His earlier case drew wide attention. Two years before this arrest, he pleaded guilty to fraud, grand theft, and practicing medicine without a license after he was accused of treating patients in Palm Beach County while claiming professional degrees he did not hold. Reports at the time said he was arrested in February 2016 over an incident from 2015, in which he was accused of taking more than $20,000 from an elderly patient. He has said he described himself as a naturopathic physician and never claimed to be a medical doctor. He reportedly served 21 months in a Florida prison.
The new charges are allegations, and a response from Love-Robinson was not included in the WPTV report.
