On Saturday, Beyoncé and Jay Z brought their “On The Run II” tour to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta and performed for thousands of fans.
Just after the couple wrapped “Apesh*t,” a fan reportedly rushed the stage and made contact with Jay Z before security escorted him out of the area. Dancers and crew members moved to protect Beyoncé during the moment.
In a statement, the tour said an intoxicated man had entered the stage at the end of the show and that crew members were evacuated in a controlled way to safely defuse the situation.
Beyoncé’s publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, said the couple were fine after reports surfaced of minor injuries. She added that they were “looking forward to the show tomorrow.”
According to USA Today, the fan has been identified as 26 year old Anthony. He received a citation for disorderly conduct and was charged with simple battery. The charges are allegations, and a response from Anthony was not included in the report.
The couple returned to the stage on Sunday night for the next show on the tour.
