The FBI arrested an 18 year old man from the Atlanta area in connection with the January 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
According to a post from the FBI’s Atlanta field office, Bruno, of Milton, Georgia, was arrested on Friday on charges relating to criminal acts at the Capitol. The bureau said the charging documents would be made available on the Department of Justice website.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that the specific charges had not yet been made public when he was taken into custody. An FBI spokesperson confirmed to the paper that agents carried out a search warrant at his home in Milton. He was not arrested at the house.
At the time of the arrest, it was unclear what actions he was accused of taking inside the Capitol.
The Milton Herald reported that he was cited by city police in December for violating a public disturbance ordinance after driving through an elementary school parking lot while blaring an air horn with a Trump flag on his truck. According to that report, he told officers he was not doing donuts and only needed speed to make the flag flap in the wind.
We will keep you posted as the charges become public.
