A federal judge blocked Donald Trump‘s controversial executive order, which banned or restricted diversity training for federal government agencies and contractors.

According to Business Insider, US District Judge Beth Labson Freeman issued a preliminary nationwide injunction against Trump’s order on Wednesday, a ruling brought on because of a lawsuit filed by LGBT rights groups in November.

As passed on Sept. 22, Trump’s executive order had barred any agencies or companies that received federal funding from participating in “offensive and anti-American race and sex stereotyping and scapegoating” training.

The order directly targeted training that uses certain terms, like “critical race theory,” “white privilege,” and “unconscious bias.”

“Plaintiffs have demonstrated a likelihood of success in proving violations of their constitutional rights,” Judge Freeman wrote. “Moreover, as the government itself acknowledges, the work Plaintiffs perform is extremely important to historically underserved communities.”
