Nashville police say five juveniles have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of Kyle Yorlets, a 24 year old musician and member of the Nashville band Caverton.
According to police, Kyle was robbed outside his home on February 7, 2019, and was shot after refusing to hand over his keys. Police say he was able to make it back inside, where a roommate found him around 3 p.m. He was pronounced dead at a hospital soon after.
Police say the five suspects, who range in age from 12 to 16, were found together at a nearby Walmart in a stolen vehicle with two loaded handguns that had also been reported stolen. They have been charged in connection with his death. Charges are allegations, and because the suspects are minors, we are not naming them.
Caverton shared a statement after the loss, saying the band is in a state of shock and heartbroken over losing their “brother, best friend, and bandmate.” They offered condolences to his family and loved ones and said his legacy is here to stay.
