When Jeremy Boyle, a junior at Ole Miss, went to investigate a noise outside of his house late one Tuesday night, he didn’t expect to be jumped and nearly beaten to death. But that’s exactly what happened on the night of October 6. According to the victim, when he went outside that night, he was immediately jumped out of nowhere by five guys. They beat him ruthlessly until he was left with a concussion, ruptured eardrum, broken teeth, lung contusion, and bruised ribs. He was taken to the hospital where he has been able to recover.
The five students who are accused of beating Boyle are members of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity at Ole Miss. Boyle was a member of the Sigma Pi fraternity, though it isn’t clear whether his fraternity affiliation had anything to do with the attack. The Pi Kappa Alpha brothers, Tucker Steil, James Basile, Christian Guy, Kyle Hughes, and Austin Rice, were all arrested on Friday night on charges of assault, hazing, and larceny.
