Florida Fisherman Uncovers $1.7 Million Worth of Cocaine in the Atlantic Ocean

A Florida fisherman recently stumbled upon a huge haul worth $1.7 million in the Atlantic Ocean. However, the catch wasn’t full of fish but 25 kilos of cocaine that reportedly fell from a boat.

The bizarre story was shared on Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey’s social media account, noting that the drugs featured a suspicious scorpion logo. He also joked that the drugs “inadvertently fell off the back of someone’s boat” as the owner was “enjoying a leisurely stroll” along the coastline.

According to Ivey, the fisherman did the right thing after discovering the drugs and wasted no time in reporting them to the authorities.

“All of us at one point or another in our lives have lost or misplaced something important and are always hopeful that a good Samaritan or an incredibly kind person will find our lost item and do the right thing by returning it to its rightful owner,” Ivy added.

He continued, “If the 25 kilos of coke belongs to you, all we need you to do is come down to our Criminal Investigative Services building on Gus Hipp Blvd in Rockledge and claim your property with absolutely no strings attached.”

While this may be an unusual story, Florida is no stranger to crazy headlines. Last week, a Lakeland woman was arrested after allegedly threatening her healthcare provider, saying,  “Delay, deny, depose. You people are next,” a reference to UnitedHealthcare CEO killer, Luigi Mangione.
