A Florida man has been arrested after allegedly killing a woman by binding her legs and feet together, holding her underwater until she went unconscious and then removing the ropes to make it look like an accidental drowning.

Lorenzo Jerome Pulliam, 28, was arrested Saturday and charged with first-degree murder in the death of Allyson Williams, 23.

On September 25, police received a call about a body floating in the Dania Beach Cut-off Canal.

At first, the scene looked like a drowning, but the sheriff’s office said in a statement that they “received information” that identified Pulliam and foul play.

The investigation found evidence that Pulliam tied Williams’ hands and feet and threw her into the canal on September 21. He then allegedly jumped into the water with her and held her down to make sure she drowned.

Investigators said that Pulliam then untied her before leaving her body in the canal. Her body was found four days later and he was arrested two weeks after that.

It’s unclear what the relationship between Pulliam and Williams was, but according to South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Pulliam has a criminal record.
