A Florida mom is facing child neglect charges after police say they found cocaine near her young son’s copy of The Cat in the Hat, according to the New York Post.
Casey, 24, was arrested earlier this week after officers searching her home reportedly discovered drugs within reach of her three year old son, the Post reported.
According to the Post, police also said they found marijuana on her bed, a snorting straw next to the cocaine, and ecstasy in a nightstand.
An arrest report obtained by the Post states that the boy had access to the bedroom and that all of the drugs were within his reach.
MSN reported that Casey was released Thursday after posting a $4,000 bond. The arrest report also alleges the boy had significant bruising connected to corporal punishment, the Post reported.
Casey has been charged but not convicted, and the case is still developing. Baller Alert did not find a public response from her in the reports we reviewed.
