An Orlando woman was shot and killed outside her job at a Navy Federal Credit Union, and police have charged her estranged husband in the case, according to WFTV.
Barbara, 27, arrived for work around 9 a.m. on Tuesday but never made it inside, WFTV reported. Police say her husband, Sylvester, 35, shot her outside the credit union’s door.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, Detective Matthew Rogers said at a press conference on Wednesday that Sylvester surrendered peacefully at his home. He was arrested on a charge of first degree murder with a firearm. Investigators said a family member reported that he had threatened her during an argument the day before, and that the couple had been separated for about three months while going through divorce proceedings.
Police say Sylvester leads a local church in Orlando and has a large social media following where he calls himself a prophet. His Facebook page has more than 60,000 followers, according to reports.
At the time of this report he was being held at the Orange County Jail without bond. He is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court, and Baller Alert did not see a public response from him or his representatives.
Our thoughts are with Barbara’s family and loved ones.
