As the White House continues to implode over scandals, leaks and illegal activity, the University of Illinois is looking to honor a real leader and political role model ahead of the 2018 midterm elections.

On Friday, forever President Barack Obama will receive the Paul H. Douglas Award for Ethics in Government, named after the Senator of the same name who represented Illinois from 1949 to ’67.

According to ABC News, Obama will be the 28th person to receive the award, joining the likes of the late Senator John McCain, Rep. John Lewis and Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, and more.

“President Obama believes the solution for our long-term challenges can be best addressed when we all fully participate in our democracy,” Obama’s communications director Katie Hill said in the statement, as she explained the honor and focal point of Obama’s acceptance speech. “His post-presidency is the net chapter in the cause of his life — bringing people together to change the world for the better. His speech next Friday will address the challenges and opportunities facing our country.”

Congratulations to our Forever President!
