A former Alabama school administrator has pleaded guilty to additional child exploitation charges involving a second victim.
Tim, 54, a former assistant principal in Blount County, pleaded guilty on June 17, 2021 to two counts of production of child pornography and two counts of possession of child pornography, WBRC reported. He was sentenced to 18 years on each production count and 7 years on each possession count. According to WBRC, the district attorney asked that the sentences run consecutive to those from the first case, but the court ordered them to run concurrently.
Tim was convicted in 2018 on the same type of charges involving a different victim, and he has been in the Alabama Department of Corrections since 2018. Prosecutors said the case began when a video was found on a school owned laptop that had been sent in for tech support. A search then turned up more videos and the second victim. The videos were made in 2013.
At his 2018 trial, Tim testified that a child in his household was responsible. Prosecutors said evidence, including the time of the downloads, showed that was not possible. District Attorney Pamela Casey said he admitted guilt for the first time at the June 2021 plea hearing, which the second victim attended.
