In the wake of Jemele Hill’s departure from ESPN after 12 years with the network, the sports anchor has landed a new gig, in collaboration with LeBron James.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Hill will take part in James’ three-part series, “Shut Up and Dribble,” inspired by Laura Ingraham’s rebuke of James’ decision to “talk politics.”
As part of the project, which will be Hill’s first since her confirmed departure from the media company, Hill will serve as the narrator for the series that will focus “the evolving role that athletes, particularly those in the NBA, play in the current political environment.”
“I think LeBron, like a lot of people, has been very frustrated by the behavior of the administration,” Hill told Hollywood Reporter’s Marisa Guthrie. “[Black Americans] feel very insulted and vulnerable within this time because of who’s in charge.”
Hill has been no stranger to political commentary, in fact, her comments on the Celebrity-In-Chief, and his refusal to denounce white supremacy led to consequences, which ultimately resulted in her split.
