A former marketing employee of Kanye West has filed a lawsuit against the rapper, claiming she was fired after he called her “ugly” and sent her a text saying “Hail Hitler.” The plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe, alleges that West regularly targeted Jewish employees with hateful and antisemitic remarks during her time working for him.
The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, includes disturbing messages allegedly sent by West, including “I Am A Nazi” and “Welcome to the first day of working for Hitler.” The claims add to the growing legal troubles facing West, who has been sued by multiple former employees over the past year.
Doe, who was hired as a marketing specialist in December 2023, alleges that West’s behavior escalated in early 2024. In January, after she suggested he distance himself from Nazism amid backlash surrounding his album Vultures Vol. 1, West allegedly responded with the text, “I Am A Nazi.”
According to the suit, she was initially fired in March 2024 before being rehired at double her salary. However, in June, West allegedly went on an abusive rant in a group chat, comparing himself to Hitler, insulting her intelligence, and telling her, “Come destroy me bitch.” She was fired the next day.
This lawsuit follows West’s recent deactivation from X (formerly Twitter) after he posted a string of antisemitic and misogynistic messages, including declaring “I’m a Nazi.” The controversy intensified after West appeared in a Super Bowl ad promoting a website that featured a swastika T-shirt for sale.
Doe’s attorney, Carney Shegerian, condemned West’s alleged behavior, stating:
“Ye waged a relentless and deliberate campaign of antisemitism and misogyny against my client. His appalling treatment of women and fixation on Nazism, evident in abusive texts where he repeatedly calls himself Hitler, expose his motives. We need to stop excusing Ye’s behavior. As a father, husband, and employer, he must be held accountable. Ye dared my client to sue, and we will see him in court.”
West has yet to publicly respond to the lawsuit.
