There are so many levels of racism, and it touches every aspect of a Black person’s life. Whether you are trying to buy a home, apply for a job, or simply take a nap in your dorm building, your Blackness will always come into the equation. Equality is a luxury that only the privileged can afford, however, former NFL star Walker says racial inequality in America is merely a figment of all our imaginations.

During a Monday appearance on Fox News, he blasted celebrities who claim Black Americans are “oppressed” and connected it to his own childhood as a “poor Black kid from South Georgia” who eventually made it to the 1992 Olympics. “I started thinking, this poor Black kid from South Georgia got a chance to represent the United States of America as I’ve been hearing from a lot of people saying, ‘we’re oppressed,’” Walker said. “Well I’m here to tell you, you’re not.”

He continued: “So, all the entertainers all the athletes out there that are telling these people, we African Americans are oppressed, well, we’re not. We can do whatever we want to do,” Walker said.

Toward the end of his interview, Walker urged viewers to go vote, “remember the American way: freedom of speech, freedom of religion, so many freedoms that we have.” He added, “So, vote for Donald Trump. Vote for a Republican. Because I’m telling you, let’s not throw our country away. Let’s vote for those freedoms we have in the United States of America,” Walker concluded.

Walker also took to Twitter saying that people are “blessed” to be living in the United States. We’re not oppressed we’re BLESSED in the USA!! The American Dream is the envy of all other countries…vote to keep our Freedom.”
