Former New England Patriots quarterback Scott Zolak thinks that playing rap music during practice is distracting to Cam Newton.

Zolak, who played for the team from 1992 to 1998, made the comments on 98.5 The Sports Hub while reporting from the Patriots practice Thursday.

“I’d turn off the rap music first of all,” Zolak, 53, said. “Because I think it’s distracting for Cam here. Because in between every throw, he’s dancing.”

He added, “He makes a throw and then — The music’s still cranking here, I know you can hear faintly in the background here.”

The former QB then compares Cam to the team’s backup quarterback, Mac Jones, who he says is there “to work.”

“Like, he’s here to work. And everything is attention to detail,” said Zolak. Conceding that dancing on the field is just Cam’s style. The QB is frequently seen dancing to hip hop during practice.
