Four group home employees in Central Florida have been charged with aggravated abuse after police say surveillance video showed a woman with disabilities being attacked.
According to WESH 2, Jaleyah, Carolyn, Breneisha and Shenka were arrested for allegedly hurting a resident of the home. Police were called to the group home on August 13 by an employee who reported injuries to one of the female residents. The home is managed by Attain Incorporated, an Orlando based nonprofit that operates 24 residential homes for adults with developmental disabilities.
Police said they found the resident with a cut on her lip and a scrape on her knee. An affidavit says employees told officers the resident had been acting out throughout the day and that they used soft control techniques to calm her down. Police then went to the Attain headquarters and reviewed surveillance video from the home. The affidavit says officers saw four women engage in the aggravated battery of a disabled adult, including the resident being shoved to the ground and one employee placing a foot on her head with her full weight on it.
Attain executive director Craig Cook declined to discuss specifics of the investigation, but said the agency is working with the Department of Children and Families and law enforcement and has no tolerance for abuse. The affidavit says the four employees were placed on administrative leave.
The Miami Herald reported that Breneisha, Shenka and Carolyn were released from jail after posting $10,000 bail each. The charges are allegations, and all four women are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Absolutely horrific. Evil people abuse the defenseless. This is so cruel. They need to spend more time in jail than some guy who peddled some pot. For reals. The injustice in our system is pathetic. People get more time for drugs and bouncing checks than for bouncing disabled people’s head off the damn floor. It aint right. Throw these beetches in jail for a long time.
