Four women have been charged in the Aug. 1 shooting death of Ralph, a 55 year old Missouri man who stopped to help them with a flat tire, according to the Mississippi County sheriff’s department as reported by Fox News.
Authorities say Ralph bought a new tire for the women, who are from Memphis, Tennessee, and invited them into his home while he worked on their vehicle. The women are Brittany, 28, Ponesha, 23, Johniesha, 19, and Lauteshia, 23.
A witness told deputies he saw Ralph arguing with three of the women inside the home early Tuesday morning while the fourth sat in a white car outside. He then heard a noise and saw the women run out and leave. Ralph’s body was later found inside the home with a gunshot wound to the back, and his pockets were turned out, which investigators say pointed to a robbery.
Two days later the women turned themselves in after family and friends encouraged them to come forward. They were charged with first degree murder, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. Officials say two of the women told investigators that Brittany fired the shot. The women have reportedly not admitted to the killing or described their roles, and all four are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
