French Montana gave social media a laugh after admitting he dropped $200,000 on a pair of Chrome Hearts jeans he says he cannot wear because of his religious beliefs.
The rapper posted the denim on his Instagram Story and kept the caption blunt: “200k for the jeans but istaghfar Allah I can’t wear them lol.”
The pair appears to be an extreme custom version of Chrome Hearts’ well-known cross patch denim. The jeans feature faded black fabric covered in oversized leather panels, with pink leopard-print backgrounds and black cross overlays spread across both legs. The design leaves little room to miss the brand’s signature imagery.
Chrome Hearts has built its identity around gothic motifs, with crosses, daggers, and fleur-de-lis symbols appearing across many of its products. For most customers, that aesthetic is part of the appeal. For Montana, it appears to have created an unexpected conflict.
As a Muslim, Montana indicated the repeated cross symbols made the jeans unwearable for him. Still, he chose to joke about the situation rather than keep the purchase private.
French Montana has never been shy about luxury fashion, rare items, or headline-making spending habits. This time, though, the flex came with a twist. The real story was not the jeans themselves, but realizing the problem after the receipt was already written.
The moment quickly became another reminder that even celebrity shopping mistakes look very different at the highest level.
