An autopsy report has listed the cause of Matthew Perry‘s death.
The actor, known for his role in “Friends,” passed away due to the acute effects of ketamine. Additionally, drowning, coronary artery disease, and the impact of buprenorphine — a drug used for treating opioid addiction — were noted as contributing elements. His death has been classified as accidental.
According to the autopsy, Perry was undergoing ketamine infusion therapy. His most recent session occurred about one and a half weeks prior to his death. Nevertheless, the coroner pointed out that the presence of ketamine in his system at the time of his death could not be attributed to the infusion therapy, as the half-life of ketamine is only 3 to 4 hours, or even less.
The autopsy revealed that the exact method of drug intake leading to Perry’s death was unknown. The coroner reported that Perry was discovered in a residential pool. While prescription medications and loose pills were found in his residence, none were reported near or adjacent to the pool. Additionally, the autopsy indicated that there were no signs of fatal trauma or suspicion of foul play in his death.
“It changed my life in every way. I got the show when I was a 24-year-old man; the show ended when I was 34. It formed my life. And it was the time of my life,” Perry previously ssaid.
