Fugees Star Pras Michel

Fugees star Pras Michel could soon be getting a pardon from Donald Trump.

Trump is reportedly considering commuting Pras’ potential 22-year sentence stemming from his conviction in a massive fraud and foreign influence scheme—one that involved billions of dollars, foreign powers, and even Leonardo DiCaprio.

While Trump hasn’t publicly commented, Pras’ publicist stated his legal team “is exploring all available options following his case” and remains “optimistic about potential paths forward.”

Pras and Trump’s connection dates back nearly 30 years. The former real estate mogul even appeared on Pras’ debut album “Ghetto Supastar,” leaving a voicemail on “1st Phone Interlude,” where he could be heard saying, “I have no doubt that you’re going to be a big success. To now, after knowing you, I know that you’re going to be right up there. And I hope very soon you’re going to be in the leagues with me. So good luck, man.”

Despite his conviction, including charges of acting as an unregistered agent for China, Pras has yet to be sentenced. Meanwhile, the U.S. government is pursuing a nearly $65 million forfeiture linked to payments from Malaysian financier Jho Low, tied to the infamous 1MDB scandal.

On the music front, Pras has distanced himself from the Fugees, recently suing Lauryn Hill over their failed reunion tour. His legal troubles also prevented him from touring Europe with the group last year.
