The investigation into a violent collision in London has taken a grim turn following the death of 32-year-old influencer Klaudia Zakrzewska, known to her fans as KlaudiaGlam.
Prosecutors have announced that Gabrielle Harrington, a former X-Factor contestant who performs under the name RielleUK, will now face murder charges. Zakrzewska died on April 25, nearly a week after she was mowed down outside a nightclub in the Soho district.
The chaos unfolded around 4:30 a.m. on April 19 on Argyll Street. Police reports indicate that an argument broke out near the Inca nightclub, which ended when a vehicle plowed into a group of people on the sidewalk. Zakrzewska was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but ultimately succumbed to her injuries. The incident also left a man in his late 50s with what authorities described as “life-changing injuries,” while two others, including a member of the club’s security team, required medical treatment.
Zakrzewska had built a dedicated following on Instagram and TikTok by documenting her travels and fashion style. The woman accused of her death, 29-year-old Harrington, was previously a member of the girl group Miss Dynamix on the 2013 season of The X-Factor.
According to investigators, CCTV video shows Harrington getting back into a Mercedes before driving the car directly into the crowd. Prosecutors allege the impact was so severe that Zakrzewska was “dragged forwards and dropped between the vehicle and a metal bike rack.”
Harrington was initially taken into custody on charges of dangerous driving and driving while nearly twice the legal alcohol limit. She appeared before a judge on April 21 and was denied bail. With the victim’s death now confirmed, the case has been upgraded to a murder investigation. Harrington is currently being held as she awaits her next major court appearance at the Old Bailey, which is set for May 19.
