A Georgia teacher has been fired after a disturbing video surfaced showing him writing a racial slur on a classroom whiteboard as students watched and laughed.

The incident occurred at Walnut Grove High School in Loganville, Georgia, and quickly gained national attention. In the 19-second clip that has gone viral, a teacher identified as Robert Walker is seen writing the N-word on the board, intentionally leaving off the final letter. A student is then heard shouting out the missing “R,” prompting Walker to finish writing the slur as the classroom erupts into laughter.

Walker, who also served as an assistant wrestling coach at the school, is no longer employed with Walton County Schools. The district acted quickly, releasing a public statement condemning the incident.

In a message posted to its website, Walton County School District wrote:

“The behavior captured in the video does not reflect the values of Walnut Grove High School or the Walton County School District. Immediate action was taken, and the teacher involved is no longer employed with Walton County Schools.”

The statement reaffirmed the district’s commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all students:

“Our commitment remains clear: every student deserves a safe, supportive, and respectful environment. We are dedicated to our students, our culture, and moving forward together as ONE Walton County.”

The school has not provided further details on the investigation, but parents and community members continue to express concern about the culture within the school and how such behavior was allowed in the first place.
