Medical marijuana is about to be available in Georgia pharmacies.

The Peach State will become the first in the U.S. to legalize the purchase of products that have THC at local pharmacies, PEOPLE reported.

The products will become available for purchase by the end of this year for residents “who meet the extremely narrow criteria” set by Georgia’s medical cannabis law.  Those who qualify will be able to buy low-dose THC products at pharmacies across that state.

Gary Long, the CEO of medical cannabis company Botanical Sciences, told CNN that he wants Georgia officials to let go of negative connotations that have been placed on marijuana.

“They think that we’re going to be selling joints out of a pharmacy or something and that’s not right,” Long told the outlet Friday. Botanical Sciences website says it is Georgia’s first physician-owned medical cannabis provider and that “89% of Georgia’s population will have access to Botanic Sciences products within a 30-minute drive.”

The medical cannabis law has a list of  applicable conditions for caregivers and/or patients that could receive eligibility, if includes cancer, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, seizure disorders, Parkinson’s disease, sickle cell disease, and post-traumatic stress disorder, among others.

Notably, the Legal dosages of THC purchased in Georgia can not exceed 5%.

Patients won’t be able to pick up cannabis products at large pharmacy chains like CVS or Walgreens, but  there are over 400 independent pharmacies across the state that can participate in the program.
