The situation involving Giants defensive tackle Jay Bromley and a woman who accused him of sexual assault took another turn, as new details attributed to sources close to the investigation began circulating.
Earlier reports, including an interview the woman gave to the New York Post, said Bromley became angry with her after she got sick during their encounter at a Midtown hotel. According to sources cited in media reports, Bromley is now telling police a different story. He reportedly told detectives that the woman asked him for $2,000 after the encounter, that he refused, and that she kept pressing him for money until he left the room. The sources said surveillance video shows the woman following him as he walked away from the hotel.
The woman’s account, as she gave it to police and the Post, is that she was sexually assaulted and later hurt when she fell from the hood of his car. Neither account has been confirmed by authorities. Bromley has not been charged with a crime, and the NYPD investigation is ongoing. The Giants have said they are monitoring the situation.
We will leave the facts to the investigators. For now, these are two competing accounts of the same night, and both are allegations.
