Gilbert Arenas is taking his former business management company to court, according to TMZ and court documents reported on November 13, 2015.
Arenas says he hired Boulevard Management in 2006 to help oversee his finances. Two years later he signed a $111 million contract with the Washington Wizards, so there was plenty of money to manage.
In the lawsuit, Arenas alleges the company failed him. He previously accused a former assistant, John, of moving millions of dollars to himself between 2007 and 2013, and that assistant was convicted of fraud over those transfers. Arenas now claims in his filing that Boulevard Management approved the transfers. He also alleges the company overcharged him $2.25 million for its services, and he is asking for $40 million in damages.
The reports we reviewed did not include a response from Boulevard Management. These are Arenas’ allegations, and the case is just getting started.
