An 18 year old Cal State Fullerton student named Faith was reported missing after traveling to Los Angeles for a BET Awards weekend party. She later contacted police and her family to say she was safe.
According to CBS Los Angeles, she came to Los Angeles on June 27, and friends had not heard from her since July 1. Relatives reported her missing on a Thursday. Fullerton police said she saw news reports about her disappearance and then contacted authorities and her family to say she was okay.
Her family released a statement to BlackSportsOnline describing her last known communication. The statement said Faith’s last contact with anyone was Sunday night while she was at a party in Los Angeles. According to the family, she sent her best friend a direct message on Instagram saying she needed a ride because her phone and belongings had been taken by NBA player Andre Miller. The family said another witness heard Faith call Miller from the witness’s phone and that Miller replied, “If you want your stuff then come and get it.”
These are claims made by the family and a witness they cited. Baller Alert has not independently confirmed them, and the reports we reviewed did not include a response from Miller. Police have not said publicly that any charges are expected.
We are glad Faith is safe, and we will update this story if Miller or the authorities respond.
