In April 2013, a very public family dispute involving Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley played out on social media. According to Bossip and Deadspin, the mother of one of his children posted a series of tweets claiming he had fallen behind on child support.

Per those reports, she also addressed Finley’s wife directly in the posts and made allegations about his personal life, including a claim that another woman was expecting. Those claims came from her tweets alone. They were not confirmed by Finley, and Baller Alert is not repeating names or details that could point to private individuals.

At the time of this post, we had not seen a public response from Finley, who was 26 years old and heading into another season with the Packers. Disputes over child support and family matters are usually sorted out privately or in court, so it is worth remembering that this is one side of a disagreement posted online.

For the full account of what was posted, read the original coverage from Bossip and Deadspin.
