Baltimore Ravens Steve Smith Sr. Shares His Thoughts On Greg Hardy’s Domestic Violence Statements

On Monday, during an interview with ESPN’s Adam Schefter,  Dallas Cowboy’s defensive end Greg Hardy denies claims, once again, that he ever hit a woman.

If you recall last November, photos surfaced of Hardy’s ex-girlfriend Nicole Holder with multiple bruises all over her body. Hardy was brought in on domestic violence charges but after Holder didn’t make herself available to help with it, the case was dropped.

When Hardy was interviewed he elaborated on the situation stating, “I’ve never put my hand on ANY women … In my whole entire life. No sir. That’s just not how we’re raised. As you can tell, like I said again, it’s the Bible belt. It’s just something that’s, I wouldn’t even say frowned upon, just something that’s nonexistent in most southern homes.”

He went on to say, “I will stop you there and say that I didn’t say that I didn’t do anything wrong. That situation occurred and that situation was handled but … saying that I did nothing wrong is a stretch but saying I am innocent is correct. Yes sir.”

While everyone had their opinions regarding the situation once the interview aired, Baltimore Ravens’ Steve Smith posted an excerpt of the interview along with his own feelings on social Twitter.  “So I guess she Tripped on the carpet or something,” Smith tweeted. “My mom is a Survivor #DV and I am advocate against #DV.”

While both Hardy and Smith were once former teammates for the Carolina Panthers, this isn’t Smith’s first time being vocal on the topic of domestic violence.

Back in September 2014 Smith took to Twitter to speak out after four players were involved in domestic violence situations. “You know its not that hard get!!!! Keep your damn hands off women!!!! God made women for you to Lean on them Not beat on them #RealTalk,” he’s previously tweeted.

Hardy has yet to respond.
