A Florida mother was arrested after deputies say she left two young children in a car while she attended the Lil Wayne and T.I. concert at Cruzan Amphitheater in West Palm Beach on Sunday night in July 2013.

According to WPTV and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, an amphitheater employee noticed the children, ages 5 and 3, in the parking lot around 7 p.m. and spoke with them around 9:45 p.m. After learning they had been left in the car unsupervised, he brought them to deputies at the north end of the venue.

Deputies say Brittany, the children’s mother, first denied bringing the children but later admitted she left them in the car so she could go to the concert. She was arrested on two counts of child neglect. Deputies said the children were left in a busy lot with an estimated 9,000 people, plenty of vehicles and some intoxicated concertgoers nearby.

Reports say the Department of Children and Families took custody of the children. An arrest is not a conviction, and Brittany had not yet had her day in court at the time of this report.
