‘GTA 6’ Still on Track for Fall 2025, Says Take-Two Interactive

GTA 6

Grand Theft Auto 6 remains on schedule for its fall 2025 release, according to Take-Two Interactive’s latest earnings report. While no exact date was given, CEO Strauss Zelnick assured investors that Rockstar Games will provide updates when appropriate.

Take-Two also announced that Borderlands 4 has moved up from a fiscal 2026 release (April 2025–March 2026) to sometime in calendar 2025, alongside Mafia: The Old Country this summer.

For the October–December 2024 quarter, Take-Two reported $1.37 billion in net bookings and a $125.2 million net loss (71 cents per share)—better than expected, as analysts had projected a 90-cent loss per share. Strong NBA 2K sales offset weaker mobile performance, which the company plans to address with new initiatives, including a WWE 2K mobile expansion on Netflix.

Take-Two also confirmed that Michael Condrey has stepped down as head of 31st Union, but reassured investors that the studio’s Project Ethos remains on track with no expected layoffs.

With GTA 6, Borderlands 4, and Sid Meier’s Civilization VII leading its 2025 lineup, Take-Two expects record-breaking growth in fiscal 2026 and 2027.
