The GTA VI album is officially on the way, and Rockstar Games is releasing it on November 19, the same day Grand Theft Auto VI finally lands on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar announced Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album on Thursday. The project has 34 songs, all original music made for the game’s version of Vice City and the fictional state of Leonida, and it was created in partnership with Atlantic Records.
Several artists teased the project on social media in the days before the reveal, and Rockstar gave fans something to play right away. Six singles went live Thursday on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and the other major streaming platforms.
Travis Scott leads the first wave with “RHYNO,” a track produced by one half of the French electronic duo Daft Punk. Yung Lean pulled in Future and Metro Boomin for “That’s It.” “Sexy Magic” brings together Argentine duo CA7RIEL and Paco Amoroso with PinkPantheress, Fred again.., and Etienne de Crécy. Rauw Alejandro contributed “Macacoa 2000,” and Rolling Stones legend Keith Richards delivered “Bright Lights, Big City.”
Morgan Wallen is also on the GTA VI album with “Last Thing You Need,” and his spot is bound to get a reaction. In 2021, video surfaced of the country singer using a racial slur. In 2024, he was arrested after throwing a chair off the roof of a Nashville bar. Rockstar’s announcement made no mention of either.Those six records are only the beginning. Rockstar has not revealed the other 28 songs or said when the full tracklist will drop.
The album is also separate from the game’s radio. Grand Theft Auto has built its reputation on in-game radio stations that players cruise to for hours, and GTA VI will still have its own. Rockstar said details on the game’s score and radio stations are coming later, which means even more music is still to be announced.
For collectors, the GTA VI album may be the most tangible piece of the whole launch. Grand Theft Auto VI is a digital-only release, and even boxed copies of the game come with a download code instead of a disc. The album, meanwhile, is available for preorder on CD and vinyl:
- The CD costs $19.98.
- The standard double vinyl runs $49.98 and is pressed on transparent magenta records with blue splatter and new artwork.
- The top tier is a limited edition, liquid-filled vinyl priced at $124.98.
Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, Target, Barnes & Noble, Urban Outfitters, Blood Records and independent record stores will carry exclusive vinyl colors. Vinyl orders are scheduled to ship November 20, one day after release.
The soundtrack is the latest move in a promotional run that has picked up speed this month. Rockstar recently unveiled limited edition PlayStation 5 controllers themed around the game, and the city of Miami, the real-world inspiration for Vice City, has officially gotten behind the promotion.
Fans have been waiting on this game since Grand Theft Auto V arrived in 2013. Grand Theft Auto VI has been available for preorder since June 25, and players can start downloading it on November 12 so it is ready to play the moment it unlocks.
