Gucci Mane and his wife Keyshia Ka’Oir welcomed their first child together, Ice Davis, two days before Christmas of last year, and ever since, the happy couple has shared so many precious moments with their baby on social media.
While this isn’t his first child, the rapper was particularly candid in a new interview with Billboard magazine about why this time around is an entirely different experience for him. He feels like a first-time father.
Gucci explained that he didn’t find out about his eldest son until the boy, now 14, when he was 10-months-old and didn’t meet him until he was just one year old. “Me and the mother were kind of like strangers,” he said. “I never knew how much attention you got to pay to a baby. It’s not easy.”
But Gucci says he loves fatherhood. “It’s a great thing and I love it, but it’s definitely challenging to be a parent.”
The rapper told Billboard that his music would also reflect all the changes in his life, including fatherhood. “I always want my music to talk about what was going on in my life, and the most important thing in my life now is my son,” he said.
