As part of their ongoing fight for his release, Gunna and his legal team have submitted a new motion to have him released on bond.

This latest attempt is Gunna’s fourth time seeking release from Fulton County Jail. Just last week, a judge denied bond for the third time. According to the “Top Off” rapper’s co-lead counsel Steven Sadow, each time a bond hearing has come up, the state has made claims against the Gunna that Sadow says are “false and/or misleading.”

Sadow says that during the third bond hearing on October 13th, a supposed text message where two individuals discussed murdering someone on Gunna’s behalf was “undeniably false.” All violent charges against Gunna have been removed. However, prosecutors still blocked all tries to release him. The latest motion calls out the state for essentially denying Gunna bond without merit. The next bond hearing will take place on November 10th or 17th.

Gunna has been behind bars since May 11th as part of a 56-count RICO indictment that included 28 YSL affiliates. His mentor and friend Young Thug was also arrested in May as part of the indictment, accused of being a vicious gang leader who ordered executions and used his YSL or Young Stoner Life Records as a cover-up for his illegal activity. Thug has maintained his innocence.

Despite the odds against him, Gunna keeps his spirits high. One way he is achieving this is by coordinating Gunna Fest 2022 from behind bars. The free family event took place on Saturday, October 17th, in College Park. Despite facing a monumental case that could spell the end of his career, Gunna remains committed to giving back to his community.

The RICO trial is expected to begin on January 23th.
