Akademiks is shutting down 21 Savage rumors involving Drake, insisting the longtime friends have absolutely no beef despite recent speculation from Adam22. During a livestream, Akademiks addressed concerns about the rappers’ relationship and claimed the two have already spoken privately, making it clear that their friendship remains intact.

“21 and Drake, they had their ones. They talked,” Akademiks said.He then doubled down on his claim, leaving little room for speculation about where the rappers stand.
“I can confirm that there’s absolutely no beef. Drake loves 21, 21 loves Drake. These guys, they’re locked in. They’re locked in, trust me.”
The clarification comes after Adam22 suggested there could be trouble between Drake and 21 Savage during a recent taping of his “No Jumper” podcast. Adam22 questioned why the rappers seemingly weren’t interacting with each other’s recent Instagram posts, despite their years of friendship and musical collaborations.
Adam22 also pointed to what he described as 21 Savage spending time with Metro Boomin while Drake was celebrating his 40th birthday in New York City. Given Metro’s highly publicized issues with Drake, Adam22 wondered whether the reported hangout and missing Instagram likes suggested something had changed.
However, Akademiks appears convinced the speculation is misplaced. Rather than discussing Instagram activity, he emphasized that the two rappers have communicated directly and continue to support one another.
Although Akademiks did not explain what prompted their conversation or reveal how he obtained his information, he spoke confidently about their relationship. He also has an established connection with Drake and attended the rapper’s recent 40th birthday celebration, where the two were photographed sharing a toast.
The 21 Savage rumors gained attention largely because Drake and 21 have built one of hip-hop’s most successful partnerships over the past decade.
Their working relationship dates back to 2016 with “Sneakin’,” followed by collaborations including “Knife Talk” and “Jimmy Cooks.” In 2022, they released their joint album Her Loss, featuring fan favorites such as “Rich Flex” and “Spin Bout U.”
The two subsequently traveled together on the It’s All a Blur Tour in 2023, further strengthening their reputation as close friends and collaborators.
Their musical relationship has also continued in recent months. Drake appeared on “Mr. Recoup” from 21 Savage’s December 2025 album What Happened to the Streets?, while 21 joined Drake on “B’s on the Table” from his May 2026 album Iceman.
Metro Boomin’s involvement in the recent speculation has added another dimension because 21 Savage has maintained longtime friendships with both artists.
Metro and 21 helped establish each other’s careers through their collaborative Savage Mode projects. Meanwhile, Metro’s relationship with Drake deteriorated publicly in 2024, when the producer joined Future for We Don’t Trust You. The album featured Kendrick Lamar’s explosive verse on “Like That,” which helped ignite the highly publicized Drake and Kendrick rap battle.
Metro later released the mocking “BBL Drizzy” instrumental as tensions escalated.
Throughout the controversy, 21 Savage repeatedly avoided choosing sides, publicly describing both Drake and Metro as brothers and expressing hope that they would eventually settle their differences.
In December 2025, 21 also revealed during an interview with Big Bank that Drake had apologized to Metro multiple times, according to his account. He suggested a reconciliation between the producer and rapper could eventually happen.
That history suggests 21 maintaining a friendship with Metro does not automatically signal problems with Drake.
For now, Akademiks’ latest comments offer a direct response to the 21 Savage rumors.
